A guide to accommodation options in Varadero

Cuba’s largest resort runs for 20kms and, with the exception of a few backpacker haunts, all hotels are located directly on the beach.

As Varadero has developed over time, the western, Havana end of the resort is home to some of the resort’s older, more basic, locally managed hotels.

As you move east along the coast, the hotels (with one notable exception) become more modern, internationally managed and far superior in almost every aspect; this is where all our selected hotels are located.

Please note that All Inclusive beach hotels in Varadero range from medium sized (our smallest featured hotel is the Iberostar Tainos with just over 200 rooms) to some gigantic resorts of over 800 rooms. We tend not to suggest any of the very largest hotels but we do feature all of Varadero’s top-rated properties.

If you’re not keen on going All Inclusive, or prefer small, intimate hotels, the recently opened Mystique Casa Perla has just 10 rooms, making it amongst the smallest beach hotels in Cuba.

As with elsewhere in Cuba, over the years a number of the better beach hotels in Varadero have become Adult Only properties, restricted to guests aged 18 years and older.
