This agreeable, mid-range hotel is located a stone’s throw from the Chicanna Mayan ruins and is popular with group tours as well as independent travellers.
Located just off the main east – west highway, the Chicanna Eco Village is set amidst beautiful gardens, at the heart which is a small swimming pool and indoor bar / restaurant together with a small function room.
Accommodation comprises 42 rooms housed in attractive, 2 storey thatched bungalows. The rooms themselves are spacious and comfortable, if slightly bland, and all have fans but not a/c.
Clients looking to arrange guides locally, or to explore the surrounding countryside, may find that doing so is easier at the hotel Puerta Calakmul.
As well as being one of the few hotels in the region, a key selling point of the property is that it even has its own Mayan ruins – Chicanna – a short walk away on the other side of the road.
