These Trips last anything from an hour to all day and, subject to availablity and logistics, you can book as many or as few as you wish.

Alexander Von Humboldt National Park6 hr/s 09.00 Baracoa Daily
This hike takes you through the UNESCO World Heritage, Alexander von Humboldt national park, “one of the most biologically diverse tropical island sites on earth”. The trail begins at the Santa Maria river and begins as a flat path through a lush forest of fruit trees before climbing to 740 metres above sea level. As well as the beautiful flora and fauna there are a number of waterfalls in the park including the 25-metre high Santa Maria waterfall and El Maja waterfall where you can take a dip in the sheltered pool.

Camaguey is synonomous with the ballet and a visit to their headquarters in the city is a must for ballet enthusiasts. Once there, you will have the opportunity to witness dancers rehearsing and preparing themselves for future performances as well as engage in an impromptu chat with instructors, dancers, choreographers and other members of the staff. The tour also includes a visit to the in-house workshops where ballet shoes, wardrobe and staging are all made.

Clients will be transported to Ancon Marina where they will board their catamaran for the trip to Cayo Blanco where snorkelling equipment is provided to explore the reef. North of Vinales, Cayo Jutias is surrounded by 6kms of calm, turquoise waters and is a great option for a relaxing day doing very little. The transfer from Vinales takes around an hour in each direction and snorkelling and lunch are included in the price.

This tour of Cienfuegos starts in the city centre, exploring the Parque Jose Marti, the wonderful Tomas Terry theatre, the Purisma Concepcion Cathedral, the Paseo del Prado and the city’s oldest house. You then continue to the Punta Gorda area of the city which is almost entirely surrounded by beautiful Cienfuegos Bay. As well as a number of delightful, old houses, highlights of Punta Gorda include the Nautical Club and the whimsical Palacio del Valle. A refreshing cocktail is included in the tour.

Learn about the origins of tobacco, how it is grown, produced and exported. Here, you will be able to visit the galley, where skilful rollers will demonstrate how they shape cigars from a wide variety of leaves. Colonial Havana With Vintage Car Ride5 hr/s 09:00 Havana Daily
Starting at your accommodation, your guide will take you to the four main squares of Old Havana: Plaza de Armas, Plaza de San Francisco, Plaza Vieja and Plaza de la Catedral. After sampling a Cuban cocktail you will be driven in a vintage car through ‘New’ Havana. Along the way you’ll drive past the Capitol Building, Revolution Square, the University of Havana, Hotel Nacional and former Presidential Palace.

This tour will help visitors understand how Catholics, Protestants, Orthodox Christians, Jews and Muslims coexist in Cuba and how the fusion of their beliefs has become engrained in everyday Cuban life. Amongst the sites visited on this tour are the Santuario de la Virgen de Regla, the Regla Religious Museum, El Callejón de Hammel, the Religious Art Museum at Basílica Menor de San Francisco de Asis and the Greek Orthodox Church located on the grounds of the convent. A Synagogue -Adath Israel - and a Protestant Church are also included.
Discovering The Unknown Havana4 hr/s 09:30 Havana Daily
Leaving Old Havana behind, you will visit “10 de Octubre”, an interesting municipality well outside the normal tourist zone. There are several places of interest around this municipality including La Loma de Chaple, one of the highest points of the city and a great lookout point. You will then be driven along Santa Catalina Avenue until you get to Iglesia de los Padres Pasionistas, considered one of the most beautiful churches in Havana. After a short stop to sample a refreshing cocktail, you will continue to “Proyecto Muraleando”, a community project that was designed to involve locals in cultural activities and which has led to large parts of the neighbourhood being turned into an outdoor Art Gallery.

Located some 20kms from Santiago de Cuba in the beautiful foothills of the Sierra Maestre, El Cobre is Cuba’s most important pilgrimage site. The church was built in 1927 and houses a black Madonna which many Cubans come to venerate and ask for protection from. In 1998, the then Pope visited El Cobre, blessed the shrine and referred to the Madonna as the Queen of Cubans.

El Yunque is the anvil-shaped mountain that is clearly visible from Baracoa and one of its most popular day trips. To reach the top involves trekking an approximate 10 km trail that reaches 575 metres above sea level. Departing Baracoa and crossing the Duaba river, you will get to the protected area around Quivijan, Duaba & El Yunque. At the ground level you will notice cocoa plantations which are very much part of the local economy; as you climb, these cocoa plantations give way to tropical rainforest before you reach the clearing at the top of El Yunque and enjoy the beautiful views.

For Ballet lovers this will be a unique experience. Walk around the main facilities of the “Alicia Alonso” Gran Teatro de la Habana escorted by a specialist guide. The tour within this recently restored, majestic building will include the García Lorca concert hall, a video screening room and the “Origenes” Art Gallery.
Guanayara Hiking, Topes De Collantes5 hr/s 09.00 Trinidad Daily (shared transport)
Travel through the Guamuhaya mountain range to Guanayara Park where you will begin your hike along the Centinelas del Rio Melodioso trail. This 6kms round-trip hike starts off easily enough but soon descends quite sharply, following the course of the river and passing waterfalls before arriving at Poza del Venado where there will be a chance to cool off in the welcoming natural pools while enjoying a packed lunch.

Your guide will collect you from your accommodation and transfer you the short distance to the Morro Castle, which guards the entrance to Havana’s harbour. From the Morro Castle, it’s just a short walk to the Fortaleza de San Carlos De La Cabana, one of the largest forts anywhere in the Americas. Another short walk takes you to Cristo de la Habana, a 60-foot statue with panoramic views across the bay to Old Havana and beyond. You then follow the road down to the charming neighbourhood of Casablanca, home to the famous Hershey Train station. From where you will catch one of the city’s iconic ferries back across the harbour to Old Havana.

Havana is famous for its architecture as this enjoyable and informative tour will demonstrate. The tour begins in Old Havana which is home to a wide variety of architectural styles ranging from Neo-Classic and Neo-Gothic to Art Deco and Art Nouveau. Continuing to Vedado in ‘New’ Havana, there are fine examples of modern city planning including the FOCSA building and the López Serrano edifice. Beyond Vedado, the largely residential area of Miramar contains numerous homes dating back to the 40s’ & 50s. Also included in the tour is a visit to a scale model of the city.
Hemingway Route4 hr/s 09:00 Havana Not Sunday
Retrace Ernest Hemingway’s steps in this half-day tour around the Nobel Prize’s favourite haunts in and around Havana. Visit his old house at Finca Vigia as well as the preserved room 511 at the Ambos Mundos hotel where he also lived and wrote. You then continue to the fishing village of Cojimar, the inspiration behind his novel The Old Man And The Sea. After a cocktail at Las Terrazas de Cojimar restaurant, walk a few blocks to see the bust of Hemingway, sculpted from the melted down propellers donated by local fishermen. A stopover at his favourite bars in Havana, El Floridita and La Bodeguita del Medio are also part of this tour.

This relaxed, level hike takes you through the beautiful Vinales Valley. You will get an insight into the area’s varied agricultural produce as you pass through numerous different fields of fruit, vegetables and, of course, tobacco. Meeting with local farmers as you progress, a visit to a local tobacco farm is included where you will learn all about the growing process of this most iconic Vinales product.

Accompanied by a local guide, you will have the opportunity to explore the Zapata Swamp and Playa Giron by horseback. The guide will pick you up at your accommodation and take you along the coast, passing by the Malecon, through the woods and visiting “Laguna Larga”, a natural lake.

The Vinales Valley is the best place in Cuba to enjoy horseback riding thanks to its flat terrain and stunning surrounding countryside. With your guide, you will learn about the region’s local flora and fauna as about the varying types of agriculture in the area, including tobacco. Clients will be picked up by jeep for the drive to El Nicho Natural Park. On arrival, you will be met by your guide who will escort you along the eco-trail until you reach the falls where there are a series of pools suitable for swimming in. Lunch is included at El Nicho restaurant before your return to Cienfuegos, stopping briefly at the lookout point to enjoy the magnificent views.

La Gran Piedra (Big Rock) is a huge, freestanding rock that has been sculpted by the elements over the years and which, at over 1200 metres above sea level, now acts as a natural viewing platform over the surrounding countryside. After a brief trek to La Gran Piedra, the tour continues with visits to a nearby botanical garden and La Isabelica museum, located within the ruins of an old, French coffee plantation. Lunch is included at a local restaurant before returning to Santiago.

A private jeep will take you to Alto del Naranjo where you will join a small group for the 3kms hike up to La Plata, headquarters for Fidel Castro in the early stages of the Cuban Revolution. Aside from its historic importance, the beautiful surrounding countryside and views also make this a hugely worthwhile trip. Returning to Alto del Naranjo, you will then be driven to Villa Santo Domingo for lunch before returning to Bayamo.

Las Terrazas is one of the best places to go birdwatching in Cuba with November through April being the optimum time to visit. There are thought to be over 100 species of bird present in the region, both endemic and migratory. With the benefit of your expert guide all you will need is a good pair of binoculars and perhaps a copy of Birds of Cuba (Helm Field Guides).

This tour takes visitors out of the city and to the beautiful countryside of the Sierra del Rosario Biosphere. After a welcome drink at Rancho Curujey and a short explanation about the history and purpose of Las Terrazas, you will be able to explore this peaceful community on foot. For something a bit special, having driven to Cayo Jutias you will set sail for approximately 30 minutes until you reach Cayo Megano de Casiguas (also known as Cayo Paraiso). En-route, the Bambu lookout point offers wonderful views of the surrounding countryside.

Sancti Spiritus is just an hour from Trinidad although, en-route, you will take time to visit the Valley of the Sugar Mills including the famous Manaca Iznaga tower. As the name suggests, this tour takes in three different valleys, two of which have barely been touched by tourism. Along the scenic route you will stop and meet farmers growing a variety of crops such as mangos, sugar cane and, of course, tobacco. The appropriately named Valley of Silence is home to just a handful of families and, at the equally apt Paradise farm, you will enjoy a lunch prepared with produce grown right there on the farm.

Clients will be met at their hotel and taken by jeep to the lookout point over the Valley of the Sugar Mills where, for the adventurous, there is the option of a zip-wire excursion. You will then continue to a sugar cane plantation and the ruins of San Isidro Sugar Mill. Also included are visits to the best-preserved manor house in the region, the Feneta Sugar Mill that has been converted into a museum and the iconic Manaca Iznaga tower where lunch is included.

Located between Trinidad & Sancti Spiritus, the Valley of the Sugar Mills was once the epicentre of the Cuban sugar industry and is still home to a number of atmospheric, decaying relics from that era. The most visited of these landmarks are Casa Gauchinango and Manaca-Iznaga whose haunting slave tower offers panoramic views of the valley. Also included is a visit to a local ceramic workshop and lunch at a local restaurant.

Starting from town, clients will be picked up bright and early by a local minivan or bus and taken to the starting point of the walk, close to the mogotes. After trekking to the community known as Los Acuaticos, you can sit back, put your feet up and enjoy sunrise from one of the best vantage points in the Vinales Valley. Afterwards, there is time to visit with members of the community to learn about their history, habits and traditions.
Vinales Tobacco Tour5 hr/s 09.00 Vinales Daily
Vinales is where the tobacco for the world’s most famous cigars is grown and today you will learn everything you need to know about this famous Cuban tradition. Your guide will lead you through the various stages, from when the first seeds are sown, to harvesting, classification of leaves, fermentation process, rolling and marketing of the 28 premium brands. As part of the tour you will visit both a Cigar Factory and the Casa del Habano where you will learn things like how to choose a vitola (cigar´s size and shape). Lunch is at a farm of one of the most renowned tobacco growers in Cuba.

This full day tour to the famous Vinales Valley is available on either a private or group basis. Departing Havana in the morning, and heading through unspoiled countryside, there will first be a short stop at Cafeteria Las Barrigonas to visit a small tobacco plantation. Continuing west, you then visit a cigar factory in the provincial capital of Pinar del Rio before arriving in the Vinales Valley. There will be time to explore the charming town of Vinales and beautiful Dos Hermanas Valley before taking an underground boat trip at Cueva del Indio. Lunch is included at a local restaurant in Vinales.
Vinales Valley Tour4 hr/s 09.00 Vinales Daily
This tour takes in the key highlights of the Vinales Valley starting at Mirador de los Jazmines which enjoys panoramic views of the valley. You will then proceed through the town of Vinales and on to Dos Hermanas Valley for a look at the Mural de la Prehistoria. Although a visit to a cigar factory is not included in this tour, you will visit a tobacco plantation and learn about the process of cigar making before ending with a visit to Cueva del Indio which involves travelling by boat along an underground river. Lunch is included at a local restaurant.

This walking tour of Old Havana affords a great introduction to the historic heart of the city as you take in the history, colonial architecture and vibrant daily, goings-on of this UNESCO World Heritage city. Including the four main squares of Plaza de Armas, Plaza San Francisco, Plaza Vieja and Plaza de la Catedral, your guide will be on hand to guide you through all the main areas of interest and to answer any queries you may have.
Yumuri River Canyon6 hr/s 09.00 Baracoa Daily
This excursion will take you along the north coast of Baracoa with its beautiful landscape and cocoa plantations where you can learn the art of making chocolate. You will also come across little visited beaches and Mata Bay from where, depending on conditions, you can sail into the inner part of the canyon. You will then continue to the fishing village of Yumuri and onto a quiet beach surrounded by a coral reef where you can have a relaxing swim before returning to Baracoa.
Zapata Peninsula Birdwatching4 hr/s 08:00 Zapata & Bay of Pigs Daily (group)
You will be collected from your accommodation and visit a selection of the Zapata Peninsula’s key bird watching spots such as the migratory bird reserve of Las Salinas, Bermejas, Soplillar, Los Hondones, Santo Tomas and Hatiguanico. The best time to visit is between November & April and some of the birds you can expect to spot include zunzuncitos (Cuban bee hummingbird), a rare type of bandicoot, water-hen and various species of parrots and herons.
