Cuba E-Visa & D'Viajeros Form

  • Cuba E Visa

Cuba Entry Requirements

British & EU passport holders require a Cuba E-Visa to enter the island – this replaces the old, paper Cuba Tourist Card that is no longer valid.

Please note that citizens of some countries cannot travel with a Cuba E-Visa and, instead, will need to apply to their nearest Cuban Consulate for a full visa.

Planning on travelling to Cuba from the US? If so, and regardless of your nationality, you will not be able to travel using the new E-Visa.

How long is a Cuba E-Visa valid for?

The visa permits single entry to Cuba and is valid for stays of up to 90 days.

How far in advance can / should I apply?

The E-Visa is valid for up to 12 months so one can apply anytime from then. As the process is by no means instant, we would recommend applying around a month in advance of travel.

Applying for a Cuba E-Visa

Official E Visa Website

Use the official Cuba E-Visa website

We recommend that visitors to Cuba only apply for their E-Visa via the official website. There are a number of commercial websites that will process your application but (a) they will almost always be more expensive, often significantly so, and (b) you don’t always know who you are dealing with on 3rd party websites.

Choose your local consulate

When you first enter the official website, click on ‘Apply For Visa’ in the box entitled ‘New Visa Application’.

You will then be asked to select the country in which you are applying (look for Great Britain if you are in the UK) followed by the Consulate, which will be Gran Bretana.

This will then display the cost of the visa and available payment methods.

Complete the e-visa application form and upload your photo

You will then need to complete the application with all the usual personal information including……

Your nationality
Passport number
Your first name and surname
Any middle names
Date of birth@
Your email address
Gender
Phone number (optional)

At this stage you will also need to upload a recent, passport-style photo, ie a colour photo with a white background. Please ensure that the size and format of the photo meet the requirements set out or your application will be rejected.

If there is more than one person in your party, you can add up to 10 additional applications at the same time. Simply select the ‘Add Another’ button and complete the same process as above for each additional applicant.

All those travelling under your application will be linked to your original email address.

Payment

Having completed the necessary application details, you will then need to pay the relevant fee.

Review and submit your Cuba E-Visa application.

As with any visa application process, you will now have the opportunity to double check that all the details on your application summary are correct.

Please check these details carefully and then complete the Captcha, agree to the fees and terms and click the ‘Send’ button to formally submit your application.

You will then receive an email confirming that your application has been received.

Await Approval

It can take up to a week to hear back regarding your application. During this time, do not attempt to edit your form or try sending another, new application using the same details as before.

Once approved, you will receive an email confirmation including a 10 letter code that you will need for the later D’Viajeros form.

Dviajeros Cuba Form

The D’Viajeros Form

The D’Viajeros form is another online application that needs to be completed no more than 7 days before your entry date into Cuba.

To complete the D’Viajeros form you will need the aforementioned 10 digit confirmation that you will have received with your Cuba E-Visa approval.

Please note that you can only complete the D’Viajeros with this 10 digit confirmation and your Cuba E-Visa is itself only valid in conjunction with a completed D’Viajeros form.

Completing the D’Viajeros Form

First off, be sure to visit the official D’Viajeros website. To switch to the English version, click on the toggle in the top right of the screen.

You will need to add your personal information again, together with your arrival airport and flight number.

Under ‘Purpose of Visit’, select ‘Tourism’ and add your Cuba E-Visa confirmation number.

After completing the health and customs questions, submit the form, saving a copy as a PDF. We suggest you print off a copy of this PDF to take with you. You will then receive an email that contains a QR code.

Travel To Cuba

At check-in, you will usually be asked to produce your D’Viajeros QR code as proof that you have a valid Cuba E-Visa.

On arrival in Cuba, you will also be asked for the QR code via your phone. In theory, paper copies are not permitted but, as the internet in Cuba isn’t 100% reliable, it always pays to have a paper copy as well.

At immigration, and in addition to your passport and QR code, you may also be asked for proof of the following: booked accommodation, proof on return or onward flights, travel insurance.
