While there are a number of backpacker orientated hostels around Apoyo Lagoon, there are also a couple of very different hotels for grown-ups that are well worth considering.
Casa Marimba is small, privately owned and located on the lake’s edge, ideal for those guests who wish to enjoy a refreshing dip in the clean waters.
Pacaya Lodge is larger (but not a big hotel), more corporate in feel and is located on the top of the ridge, with panoramic views over the lagoon.
Which one you opt for very much depends on personal taste and priorities.
