By its very nature, accommodation options on Nicaragua’s Emerald Coast are limited – that is very much at the heart of its appeal as a destination.
Of the handful of hotels along this small stretch of Nicaragua’s Pacific coastline, a fair few focus on surfing which, while it looks great fun, is something of a niche business and not one that we are quite ready to roll with.
Of our two featured hotels, Rancho Santana covers some 2,500 acres and includes no less than five distinct beaches along its strip of coastline.
The Hotel Punta Teonoste, just to the north, is nothing like as large as Rancho Santana but also has the feel of being located in the middle of nowhere.
