Virgin Atlantic Covid-19 Cover

Virgin Atlantic have recently announced details of their Covid-19 Cover which is being provided free of charge to new & existing customers.

The Virgin Atlantic Covid-19 Cover is valid for any flight or holiday booked utilising a Virgin Atlantic ticket and travelling up until 31st March 2021.

This new scheme applies both to those with existing bookings as well as for any new bookings made.

Summary of the Virgin Atlantic Covid 19 Cover

The cover provides up to £500,000 in necessary and emergency expenses incurred as a result of Covid-19 affecting passengers and / or their travel companions.

Denied Boarding/Quarantine – Virgin Atlantic will cover numerous additional costs customers and / or their travelling companions incur should they be denied boarding or be compelled to quarantine in their intended travel destination due to Covid-19. The cover includes personal accommodation, transport charges, refreshments, booking amendment charges and other travel expenses incurred.

The policy cover is for the entire duration of a customer’s trip, with no upper limit on the length of time spent away.

Should it be medically necessary due to Covid-19, repatriation is also included.

The Covid-19 cover is for all passengers and there are no restrictions based on age, class of travel or the length of journey.

Unlike standard insurance policies, there is no excess payable with the Virgin Atlantic Covid-19 Cover.

However, in keeping with other insurance policies, terms, conditions and exclusions do apply.

The Virgin Atlantic Covid-19 Cover is provided through the airline’s partner, Allianz Assistance.

Further details on the scheme, as well as claims information, can be accessed by calling them on 020 8239 4030.

Please note that Beyond The Ordinary have no involvement in this scheme so all related queries should be directed to Allianz Assistance on the number provided.

Please also note that one of the conditions of the cover is that passengers’ contact details are stored in the airline booking.

This new scheme is part of the airline’s ‘Fly safe, fly well’ campaign, designed to provide existing and new customers with the confidence to resume travelling.

Please note that this scheme does not negate the need for clients to arrange separate travel insurance.
