Hotel Villa Caribe
Livingston & Rio Dulce, Guatemala Tourist
Benefiting from a superb location, with panoramic views out to sea, the Villa Caribe is the only tourist-class hotel in Livingston and, although not distinguished by luxurious rooms or outstanding service, it’s a pleasant enough place to spend a day or two.
Simple hotel with a beautiful waterfront setting
The hotel is situated just a couple of hundred metres from Livingston’s small, main dock but also has its own mooring facilities, allowing for guests to be dropped off or picked up directly from the hotel.
As most visitors simply pass through Livingston, perhaps the most important feature of the Villa Caribe is its lovely large pool which even has a small jungle section complete with water-fall.
The sole restaurant is a pleasant, open-air facility, again with superb, panoramic views out to sea. Breakfast is either buffet or a la carte, depending on numbers. Lunch and dinner are also served, often with live entertainment if there is a tour group staying, although there are plenty of more interesting alternatives on Livingston’s main street which is only a couple of minutes’ walk from the hotel.
Accommodation comprises 45 standard rooms, together with 6 bungalows which we recommend upgrading too. Both rooms and bungalows are simply furnished but perfectly comfortable and, most importantly, all have a balcony or terrace facing out to sea.
