Guatemala / Accommodation

A guide to accommodation options Livingston & Rio Dulce

Where to stay in Livingston & Rio Dulce

Although there are a handful of hotels in Livingston, standards are generally pretty basic with the majority of accommodation geared towards the back-packer market.

Although certainly nothing special, the best hotel in Livingston, and boasting the stand-out location, is the Villa Caribe.

Due to Livingston’s location and complete isolation from the mainland, there are no nearby alternatives and nor is it practical or advisable to visit without staying at least one night.

In addition to accommodation in Livingston itself, there are a handful of options at the other end of the Rio Dulce, close to the point where the river enters Lake Izabal. Please contact us for details.

Details of holidays to Guatemala that require hotel accommodation in Livingston and / or Rio Dulce can be found in our dedicated Itineraries section of this website.
