A guide to accommodation options in Antigua

  • Accommodation in Antigua, Guatemala

Where to stay in Antigua

Within Guatemala, there is no question that Antigua has by some way the greatest range of accommodation, both in terms of quantity and quality.

As a relatively compact town, you can stay almost anywhere in Antigua and be within easy walking distance of the centre; and even if you are on the very outskirts of the town, such as our overnight option, Villa Colonial, you will still find yourself surrounded by cobbled streets and atmospheric ruins.

With very few exceptions, hotels in Antigua are either refurbished, colonial-era buildings or faux colonial buildings that blend in effortlessly with their surroundings.

Deciding which hotel to opt for is, more often than not, a question of just how luxurious you want your accommodation to be and what you want to pay, as location, charm and character are pretty much a given wherever you stay.
