The hotel Meson de Maria is a small, charming, colonial-era hotel just a minute or so from the historic Arco in the heart of Antigua.
Originally a private residence, the property is built around a beautiful open-air courtyard as well as featuring a terrace on the 3rd floor with wonderful views out towards Agua, Fuego and Acatenango volcanoes.
As befits a building dating back to the Spanish, colonial era, the hotel Meson de Maria is full of furniture, art and decor that reflects its heritage and which gives one the feeling of staying in a particularly smart, private home rather than a hotel.
Although there is no in-house restaurant, breakfast is served in a cozy, designated breakfast room and, if you really do wish to dine in, room service can be arranged from a couple of nearby restaurants. There are however plenty of options within easy walking distance.
There are just 20 rooms in total, all individually furnished and decorated. Guests at the Meson de Maria can choose between cozy standard rooms or more spacious superior, deluxe and suite options.
