Palacio De Dona Leonor

A graceful, old-fashioned hotel in the heart of historic Antigua

Housed within a beautifully restored mansion dating back to the mid-16th century and named after Doña Leonor, the daughter of the Spanish conqueror Don Pedro de Alvarado, the hotel is located in the very heart of Antigua and just a short walk from all the main areas of historic significance.

With a wonderful, large courtyard at its heart, the hotel’s bar, restaurant and tiny pool are all located on the ground floor while accommodation is located on the first floor.

All 13 rooms are either named after relatives of Dona Leonor or key figures from the era and are ornately decorated much in the same way as they would have been in the 16th century with painted ceilings, decorative antiques and original artworks.

Rooms either face onto the central courtyard or over the street below, the latter something of a rarity in Antigua.

Because of this, the Palacio de Dona Leonor is a great choice for visiting Antigua during Semana Santa (Easter Week) when giant processions often pass by, right in front of the hotel.
