The building dates back to the early 19th century when it was a private residence belonging to a prominent local, Antigua family.

Painstakingly converted into a hotel, such has been the care taken in preserving the building’s colonial heritage and architectural features, not to mention its collection of colonial furniture and eclectic art work, that Las Cruces is often referred to as being a Living Museum.

While other similar hotels in Antigua also feature the same attention to colonial authenticity and detail, one of the stand out features of Las Cruces is its outdoor space, not always a given in such a compact town. This comprises both a spacious patio garden as well as a roof top terrace with volcano views.

Breakfast is included in the price and is served between 7 & 11, either in the indoor dining room or on the outside terrace. Drinks and light tapas are also available on the terrace and, while Las Cruces doesn’t offer a lunch or dinner service, there are numerous restaurants within easy walking distance.

When it comes to accommodation, Las Cruces features just 11 suites, each one unique in terms of size, layout and décor and divided into 4 categories: Standard Suite, Junior Suite, Master Suite and Master Suite with Jacuzzi.

All the beautifully appointed rooms are furnished in a colonial style and feature individual a/c, luxury bathroom amenities, safe, satellite tv, minibar, coffee maker and wifi.
