Not only is the Melia Buenavista far smaller than most hotels in Cuba, it is also one of the most luxurious hotels on the island. Restricted to guests aged 18 years and older, the hotel occupies a prime location on Cayo Santa Maria, surrounded by 3 beautiful beaches.
Despite its size, the hotel boasts a surprising number of facilities including a beautiful, freeform swimming pool, YHI Spa, fitness centre and tennis courts. Dining options are split between 2 a/c, indoor a la carte restaurants and a more relaxed, open air restaurant at the beach. A wide choice of cocktails, wines and soft drinks are also on offer at bars by the beach and pool as well as the 24hour lobby bar.
Included in the price are all meals and snacks, all local and selected international drinks 24hrs a day, non-motorised watersports, various land-based activities and evening entertainment.
At 62sq metres and up, all 105 rooms at the Melia Buenavista are amongst the very largest in Cuba as well as being equipped with a wide range of features. Unlike most beach hotels in Cuba, the décor is also refreshingly crisp and contemporary. Sea-view rooms are also available at a supplement.
