The slightly cumbersome name and odd layout of the hotel is explained by the fact that these used to be two neighbouring but separate hotels. While there isn’t any significant difference between the two sections, the old Rio de Mares part is more elevated and therefore enjoys the better views out to sea.

No matter which part of the Sol Rio de Luna y Mares you end up at, you’ll enjoy the same superb stretch of beach, Playa Esmeralda, right up there amongst the best beaches anywhere in Cuba.

The hotel features 5 bars, main buffet restaurant and a choice of 4 a la carte restaurants. The hotel also has 2 pools, Wellness & fitness centre, Kids Club, shops and beauty salon.

The Sol Rio de Luna y Mares has a total of 464 guest rooms with a variety of room categories. For most guests, the simple choice will be between garden or seaview rooms although larger, Junior Suites are also an option.

Included in the price are all meals and snacks, all local and selected international drinks 24hrs a day, non-motorised watersports, various land-based activities and evening entertainment.

Please Note: At all our featured All Inclusive beach hotels, charges apply for certain services while the provision of facilities and services may vary during periods of low occupancy.
