Owned and operated by Habaguanex, Cuba’s heritage hotel company, the Hotel Terral is their first real foray into developing accommodation on Havana’s famous seafront promenade, the Malecon.
Despite its parentage, the Hotel Terral is anything but a stuffy, old property. Instead, perhaps with a nod to Miami Beach chic, it is a contemporary combination of glass, steel and wood that fits in well with its seafront setting.
Being such a small hotel, facilities are understandably limited although the downstairs breakfast room maintains the hotel’s cool, understated vibe and is a great place to enjoy a leisurely breakfast.
And it is this seafront setting that is the Terral’s primary draw. All 14 rooms overlook the Malecon and enjoy wonderful views, not just of the sea but of the day to day goings on of Havana’s residents as they play, relax and flirt.
In keeping with the ocean location, rooms are crisp and clean, decorated using a simple blue and white palate.
