Housed in a former colonial building, the Hotel Francis Drake is just 500 metres walk from Campeche’s central square and the majority of the city’s key sites of interest within easy walking distance.
There are just 18 rooms in total, split between Standard, Junior Suites and a Suite. All rooms feature twin or queen / king beds, ensuite bathrooms, a/c, safe, mini-fridge and wifi. The Junior Suites & Suite include extra living space.
The hotel’s restaurant specializes in local, traditional cuisine with breakfast generally included in the price. There are also numerous bars and restaurants within easy walking distance.
With no outside space, this isn’t somewhere to while away the hours in a sunny courtyard but is more than adequate if all you’re after is a comfortable, good value, well located base for your time in Campeche, the hotel ticks all the boxes.
Although always subject to change, the Hotel Francis Drake is currently the hotel that we use on our week long, small group tour of the Yucatan Peninsula.
