A guide to accommodation options in Trinidad

Where to stay in Trinidad

As one of the jewels in the Cuban tourism crown, many prospective visitors to the area are surprised at just how limited accommodation options are.

Within the town itself there are just a handful of hotels, with only the Iberostar Grand & Hotel La Popa being of an international standard. The tiny Meson del Regidor is full of charm and character but, with only four rooms, is really a restaurant-with-rooms.

Aside from hotel accommodation, Trinidad is also home to at least 500 casa particulares, including many of the best in Cuba. Indeed, in terms of overall choice and quality, Trinidad & Havana are the stand-out destinations for experiencing a casa particular.

Some twenty minutes’ drive from town, Trinidad also boasts its own idyllic beaches and, for now, three All Inclusive properties, the best of which is the Memories Trinidad Del Mar (formerly the Brisas Trinidad).

Two new All Inclusive hotels are currently under construction at the beach (Playa Ancon), the Melia Trinidad & Iberostar Ancon, with the former set to open in 2023.
