General accommodation in the Yucatan Peninsula

While most of our featured hotels can be neatly assigned to specific destinations such as Cancun, Valladolid, Merida etc, others are located in lesser known locations or, in some instances, pretty much in the middle of nowhere.

As our first example, many of our clients opt to visit the fishing village of Rio Lagartos in order to explore the nearby UNESCO Biosphere by boat. Located on the Yucatan Peninsula’s north coast, Rio Lagartos can easily be visited from the charming colonial town of Valladolid which boasts a wide choice of accommodation.  However, for clients looking to soak up the atmosphere and hang around a bit longer, we can offer the Yuum Ha hotel on the waterfront.

In a very similar vein, but located on the western, Gulf Coast of Mexico, Celestun is another rustic fishing village that acts as a jumping off point to the adjoining Biosphere.

The city of Merida is just over an hour’s drive away but, for clients who want to experience a slower pace of life for a while, we are able to offer simple accommodation at Don Gonzalo Beach Hotel.
