Although Mexico was very much part of the Spanish colonial empire, there was a significant French population in Merida at the time and to stay at Mansion Merida is to be transported back in time to the Belle Epoque in all its opulent grandeur.

It took five years to restore the hotel to its former glory including its grand staircase, crystal chandelier, beautiful, tiled corridors and wonderful, open-air courtyard. The hotel now also features a small pool together with a bar and fine-dining restaurant.

The Mansion Merida also benefits from an ideal location, with the city’s Plaza Granda almost on its doorstep while Paseo Montego, is just a short walk away

There are just 14 rooms in total, all luxuriously decorated and furnished, with a choice of Junior Suite, Suite and Imperial Suite.
