Situated on Paseo Montejo, a grand, mansion lined boulevard that runs through central Merida, Rosas & Xocolate comprises two such mansions that have been fused into a single, eye catching, bright pink hotel.

Mexico, indeed Merida, has plenty of characterful hotels that strive to reflect the region’s rich heritage. Rosas & Xocolate is no different in that respect, it simply wants to have a bit more fun in the process, hence the marriage of contemporary and traditional and, yes, lots of pink everywhere, even on the bikes that guests can use free of charge to explore the city.

The hotel has some 17 rooms in total, all stylishly furnished & equipped and all featuring outdoor bathtubs. 14 of the rooms are styled as deluxe rooms in addition to which guests have the option to upgrade to either the Xocalate Suite, the Rosas Suite or the Master Suite.

Within Rosas & Xocolate there is a small, outdoor swimming pool as well as well one of the best aromatherapy spas in Merida featuring a number of local treatments.

The hotel restaurant is also highly regarded within the city, serving a fusion of Yucatan, Mexican & international cuisine. Either before or after your meal, the hotel also offers a choice of bars, the Moon Lounge Bar on the rooftop terrace and the indoor Tequila Lobby Bar & Library.

Even the hotel’s small shop is one of the most stylish in the region, wherever possible promoting local producers and makers.

With all of the above in mind, it should probably come as no surprise that Rosas y Xocolate is a member of Design Hotels.
