However, although marketed as individual tours, they are in fact derivations of the same tour that departs most Sundays (to coincide with the Virgin Atlantic flight from Gatwick) throughout the year.
Starting in Havana, the 7 night tour takes in the western half of Cuba, first heading due west out of Havana to take in the Vinales Valley & Las Terrazas before turning back on itself and doing a loop of the key Cuban destinations of Santa Clara, Trinidad & Cienfuegos before returning to Havana.
The 11 night tour of Cuba follows exactly the same itinerary as far as Trinidad but then, instead of continuing to Cienfuegos and back to Havana, heads east; first the long drive from Trinidad all the way to Bayamo and thence onwards to Santo Domingo (for La Plata), Santiago de Cuba and Baracoa before ending the tour in Holguin.
Another potential variation (ideal for those who have perhaps been to Cuba before and ‘done’ Havana, Vinales & Trinidad) is for clients to join the tour in Trinidad and join it for the journey east.
With all three Cuba tours, there is the option for clients to extend their stay on the island with time at one of its beautiful beaches.
As the 11 Cuba tour ends in Holguin, there is the opportunity for this beach extension to be enjoyed in the beautiful, nearby resort of Guardalavaca, just an hour’s drive away. From Holguin, clients also have the option of flying back to the UK via Miami.
With both the 7 night and 14 night Cuba tours ending in Havana, from a practical perspective it makes more practical sense for the beach extension to be somewhere ‘nearby’ (these things are relative in Cuba), such as Jibacoa, Varadero, Trinidad or Cayos de Villa Clara.
Departures are guaranteed with a minimum of 2 people and the maximum group size is 20. As the tour ‘splits’ along the way, anyone going on the full 14 night tour of Cuba will find themselves with different guides along the way together with, typically, a reduced group size.
