This charming hotel is located just a stone’s throw from the start of the famous Chichicastenango market and is ideal either as an overnight stop-over or simply for a spot of lunch on market day.
Attractive, faux-colonial hotel just a short walk from the market
Despite appearances, the Hotel Santo Tomas was only opened in 1977 and is still a family-run business.
Designed in a colonial style, the hotel is built around a series of colourful, open-air courtyards, each heavily adorned with plants, pots and flowers.
To one side of the hotel there is also a large pool together with jacuzzi, sauna and fitness room.
On the ground floor there is a bar and large restaurant while, on market days, the hotel often lays on a buffet lunch within one of the courtyards.
In total there are 73 rooms, all furnished in an attractive, colonial style and most boasting open-fires, ideal for a chilly night.
