Dos Mares
El Cuyo, Mexico
Tourist
Dos Mares is a small, laid back hotel set back one block from El Cuyo’s famous, unspoiled beach.
From the outside, Dos Mares almost goes unnoticed as a hotel and, because it is set back one block from the beach, it would be stretching it somewhat to describe it as a resort hotel.
There are no gardens or much in the way of public space on the ground level, the focus of the hotel very much being on its rooftop.
Here, you will find not only a small swimming pool (ideal for cooling off, not for exercise) and lounging space, but also the hotel’s bar and restaurant.

With views out over the sea, and benefiting from El Cuyo’s famous breeze (more so during the winter months), Dos Mares’s rooftop offers plenty of space to chill out with a good book and cold drink.
In total, the hotel features some 22 rooms, all with either a terrace or balcony (some with ocean facing views).
If you like contemporary style and décor, you will love the rooms at Dos Mares which lean into a modern, smooth concrete aesthetic.
With El Cuyo being such a small town, everything is within walking distance of the hotel including a spattering of bars, restaurants, convenience stores and kite boarding schools.
