Opened in 2020, Casona Los Cedros is a project into which French architect Laura Lecue and her partner Alan Montfort have clearly poured every last ounce of their heart and soul.

The building in which it is housed, just a short walk from the centre of Espita, was originally a private home and then a cantina before lying abandoned and derelict for more than 30 years.

The Casona Los Cedros that one sees today consists of two distinct, but seamlessly joined together, spaces. The original building, rebuilt by local craftsmen using traditional methods and materials houses the reception, a small shop and bar.

Behind this, and surrounded by gardens, is the entirely new part of the hotel, home to the hotel’s restaurant, infinity swimming pool and bedrooms.

In total Casona Los Cedros has just 8 beautiful and spacious bedrooms, each with a private terrace and ensuite bathroom with rain shower and local, organic toiletries. All rooms are designed in a crisp, modern style with polished concrete and furnished with local handicrafts.

Of the 8 rooms, 5 are Premium rooms with 1 king size bed, 2 are Premium Double rooms with 2 queen size beds and 1 is a suite with its own small pool.

The hotel’s gourmet restaurant is one of the best in the region with an imaginative menu fusing Mexican, Yucatan & International cuisine. Much of the produce is organic and comes from local growers where possible as well the hotel’s very own vegetable and herb garden.

Please note that, during periods of low occupancy, guests will be asked in advance to confirm that they wish to eat at the hotel as well as selecting their dining options. Breakfast is also included in the price.

By prior notice, the hotel can also arrange an in-room massage service as well as rooftop yoga classes.
