Melia Santiago

Santiago De Cuba, Cuba
Moderate Tourist

The Melia Santiago is the best and most reliable hotel in Cuba’s second city although, when it comes to character and sense of place, it is less successful.

Located a short drive from the city’s historic centre, the Melia Santiago is a modern construction, characterised by a lot of glass and has the slightly odd feel of business hotel that lacks any real business clientele.

That said, the pool area is a great place to relax, facilities are plentiful and, as with all Melia hotels in Cuba, everything works with a level of efficiency and reliability that can’t always be found elsewhere.

Accommodation options at the hotels vary from classic rooms which are comfortable, if slightly humdrum, to rooms located on the hotel’s ‘Level’ floors which are surprisingly luxurious and well appointed. In total, there are 302 rooms.

The Melia Santiago is generally our ‘go to’ hotel for small group tours of the island, including our 14 Night Cuba Tour.
